When God told Jonah to go to Nineveh and tell the people to turn back to Him, Jonah ran the other way! He got on a ship headed far from where God wanted him to go. But God sent a great storm, and Jonah knew it was because he was running away. To save the crew, Jonah told them to throw him overboard. That’s when something amazing happened – God sent a huge fish to swallow Jonah! Inside the fish, Jonah prayed and turned his heart back to God. After three days, the fish spat him out on dry land.
Jonah had a second chance, and this time, he obeyed. This story reminds us that God’s plans are always best, and even when we make mistakes, He gives us another chance to follow Him.
