In Genesis 4, we learn about two brothers, Cain and Abel, who both brought gifts to God. Abel, a shepherd, brought his very best lamb, while Cain, a farmer, brought some of his crops. God was pleased with Abel’s offering because it came from a heart that truly loved and honoured Him. But Cain’s gift wasn’t his best, and God saw that his heart wasn’t right.
Instead of learning from this, Cain became jealous of his brother. God warned him to choose what was right, but Cain let anger take over and made a terrible choice. This story reminds us that God cares about our hearts more than the things we give. He wants us to give joyfully, whether it’s our time, kindness, or talents!
