Moses and the burning bush craft
When God drew near to Moses, He came as a flame on a bush. The fire was too hot for humans to touch, yet it did not devour the bush. God is holy, and also our friend. His presence made the ground holy and Moses needed to take off his sandals as a sign of respect. However, Moses himself was able to stand in the presence of the great “I AM”. God is mysterious and miraculous but not out of reach.
This craft can help children imagine the scene—a bush on fire yet not burning up. And, God drawing near to a man and calling him to be a leader when most others saw him only fit to be a shepherd.
