Jesus Welcomes Children Bible Craft
If you could sum up what most illustrations of Jesus look like, they’re pretty tame. A lot show Him standing or sitting with arms outstretched, palms facing upwards. I’d go so far as to say some kids might find Him a little boring. But imagine the Creator talking to children about nature! Imagine the Author of our lives telling Old Testament stories to kids! He would have captivated them like nothing else ever had.
This craft shows Jesus with two children making shadow puppets in the sun – a moment of pure play and joy. Jesus was relatable. He came to earth to live among us. He came as close as He possibly could. He didn’t just sit in silence; He engaged, laughed, played, and loved the children around Him.
Ask your children: What would you like to do with Jesus if He came to visit your home? Play Lego? Go swimming? Bake a cake? I’m sure Jesus would do all these things! Use this craft to help children see that Jesus is approachable, fun, and genuinely interested in them. Let’s do our best to present this image of Jesus to our children – not distant or boring, but warm, playful, and absolutely real.
