God placed Joseph in an incredible position – governor of all Egypt! Pharaoh trusted Joseph so much that he put him in charge of the entire land. Joseph got straight to work, travelling throughout Egypt during the seven years of plenty, collecting and storing up huge amounts of grain.
When the seven years of famine arrived, people were hungry everywhere, not just in Egypt, but in the surrounding nations too. Joseph opened up the storehouses and people came from far and wide to buy grain. He had prepared so well that Egypt had more than enough to share.
It’s a wonderful picture of how God uses people in practical, powerful ways. Joseph’s wisdom and faithfulness meant that countless lives were saved.
Genesis 41:41–57
They brought meaningful gifts: gold for His royalty, frankincense for His divinity, and myrrh, foreshadowing His sacrifice. When they found Jesus, they bowed in worship, showing that His love reaches everyone. Afterward, they obeyed God’s warning to avoid Herod, returning home by another route. Their journey inspires us to seek Jesus, offer our best to Him, and follow His guidance in our lives.
