Have you ever felt completely let down by the people who were supposed to love you most? That is exactly what happened to Joseph.
Joseph’s brothers were jealous of him – so jealous that one day they grabbed him, threw him into a pit, and sold him to slave traders heading to Egypt. He was their own brother, and they turned him into a transaction.
Can you imagine how Joseph must have felt? Betrayed. Alone. Wondering if things would ever be okay again.
Sometimes the people closest to us are the ones who hurt us the most. And sometimes, even when we have done nothing wrong, life takes a turn we never expected. Joseph’s story was only just beginning, and even from the bottom of that pit, God had not forgotten him.
Genesis 37:12-36
They brought meaningful gifts: gold for His royalty, frankincense for His divinity, and myrrh, foreshadowing His sacrifice. When they found Jesus, they bowed in worship, showing that His love reaches everyone. Afterward, they obeyed God’s warning to avoid Herod, returning home by another route. Their journey inspires us to seek Jesus, offer our best to Him, and follow His guidance in our lives.
