Zacchaeus Bible Craft

What will your children find if they search for Jesus? Jesus. Tell them that, and keep it simple, because it is.

Like Zacchaeus, who climbed a tree to get a glimpse of Jesus, your children can draw near to Him through simple acts. Prayer. Reading the Bible. Inviting Jesus into their hearts. These simple actions – just like climbing a tree – are all it takes to encounter Him.

Jesus is as ready to be our friend as He was with Zacchaeus. If your children get discouraged, remind them: all Zacchaeus did was climb a tree. He didn’t have to be perfect or have all the answers. He just showed up and reached out. And Jesus responded with friendship, acceptance, and love.

Use this craft to teach children that seeking Jesus doesn’t have to be complicated. A simple desire, a simple action, a simple prayer – these open the door to knowing the One who loves them most.

Instructions

Colour and cut out.
Adults, hide Zacchaeus (like a plant) and have children role play Jesus walking along and spotting him.
