Jacob and Esau were twin brothers with very different personalities. Esau was a skilled hunter while Jacob preferred to stay close to home. When their elderly father Isaac was ready to give his most important blessing to Esau, their mother Rebekah helped Jacob disguise himself by covering his arms with goatskin to feel hairy like his brother.
Isaac, whose eyesight had faded, reached out and touched Jacob’s arms. Believing it was Esau, he gave Jacob the blessing instead.
Even in this messy, complicated family moment, God’s bigger plan was still unfolding. A great reminder that God works through imperfect people, just like us!
