When Abraham’s servant arrived at the well, exhausted from his long journey, he prayed for a sign that the right wife for Isaac would offer water not just for him, but for his camels too. That might not sound like much, but camels drink a lot! A thirsty camel can gulp down 100 litres of water, and there were ten camels in the group. Rebekah didn’t just offer a polite cup – she kept running back and forth, filling the trough again and again until every single camel had enough.
That’s the kind of person Rebekah was; generous, hardworking, and kind without being asked twice. She had no idea she was being tested. She was just being herself.
What a reminder that the way we treat others in ordinary moments says everything about who we really are.
