Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane Bible Craft
Jesus felt alone in the garden of Gethsemane. He faced total separation from God. He was struggling, and He called out to God for help. This craft shows Jesus clinging to a rock, with an angel there to support Him – a picture of vulnerability and divine comfort in the midst of deep pain.
We can use this story to teach children that to struggle is not a sin. And the same goes for us adults. Jesus didn’t hide His emotions or pretend everything was fine. He was raw. He wept. He told God exactly what He didn’t want to do. He was honest about His fear and His pain.
Yet ultimately, Jesus obeyed. He said, “Not my will, but yours be done.” And so should we teach our children to do the same – not by ignoring their struggles, but by bringing them honestly to God.
Encourage your children to be raw with their emotions before God. Teach them honest prayer without pretence. Show them that coming to God with our real feelings, our real fears, our real doubts – that’s not weakness, that’s faith. Jesus modelled it. He struggled, He prayed, and He trusted God.
Help your children know that in their darkest moments, God is still there – just as the angel was there with Jesus.

Instructions
- Color and cut out.
- Fold flaps under images.
- Cut along dotted lines.
- Do a soft fold following the dotted lines vertically. Fold the trees forwards, and the images of Jesus and the angels towards the back.
- Optional: Glue to base.
